Visit in attocube systems GmbH HQ

In the autumn, we visited the headquarters of attocube systems GmbH – one of the leaders in nanotechnology solutions for science and industry. The company specializes in the development and production of advanced systems for nanoscale applications, including precision positioning, cryogenic microscopy, and high-resolution analytical techniques. Solutions in nanoscale studies are provided by its division Nanoscale Analytics, known for developing breakthrough imaging and spectroscopy technologies. The company’s flagship platform is the neaSCOPE system—an optical extension of AFM microscopy that enables advanced optical, electrical, and mechanical measurements under a wide range of environmental conditions: from room temperature, through high vacuum, to cryogenic environments.

During our first visit, we had the opportunity to test the system’s capabilities on our own samples and to explore in practice the key techniques offered by neaspec. The studies included both biological systems (lipid membranes) and two-dimensional materials – including graphene samples.

On our second visit, during a two-day nano-IR workshop, we attended presentations by scientists from around the world who use s-SNOM and AFM-IR techniques in their research. The program also included live measurement demonstrations, as well as another opportunity to test the instrumentation on our – quite demanding, as it turned out – samples.
