nano-IR Workshop in SOLARIS National Synchrotron Radiation Centre

At the beginning of March, workshops dedicated to optical infrared nanospectroscopy were held at the SOLARIS National Synchrotron Radiation Centre and the Faculty of Chemistry of the Jagiellonian University. The event was organized in cooperation with attocube systems GmbH and their Polish representative, COMEF Sp. z o.o..

The workshop program included both technical and scientific lectures. Company representatives presented the capabilities and limitations of the instrumentation, while invited researchers discussed the latest results obtained using s-SNOM, nano-FTIR, and AFM-IR techniques in the analysis of biological, polymer, 2D, and semiconductor materials. One of the speakers was Łukasz, who for the first time presented the activities of SPOTLab, as well as the team’s future plans and development directions.

The lecture sessions concluded with a live broadcast from the laboratory of attocube systems GmbH in Munich, during which demonstration measurements were presented. Afterwards, we visited the SOLARIS center, where a poster session and a tour of the synchrotron infrastructure took place.

On the second day of the workshops, we continued with the practical part of the program. Once again, we had the opportunity to perform test measurements on our own samples using the s-SNOM technique available at the Faculty of Chemistry of the Jagiellonian University.
